What is the average amperage draw for a car when it is off?
s_nj_guy asked:
I would like to know what the average amperage draw is when the car is off. Radio memory, car computer memory and maybe a satalite radio receiver all take a little power from the battery even when the car is off. Thank you.

You would have to put a meter on it to tell. Good question though. A STUMPER

First amperage is a bad word, amperes is better (my own little pet peeve) second it should be drawing a few hundred milli-amps.

It varies on different vehicles: 200mA – 500mA.
I’ve never seen the draw exceed 3/4 of an amp on a vehicle with no other concerns.
